🌍 What Is Caribana?

The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, lovingly known as Caribana, is North America's largest Caribbean cultural celebration - and it's happening right in the heart of Toronto, Ontario! Each year, it draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the globe, all ready to soak in the music, food, and vibrant energy of the Caribbean.

📜 Origins & History

Caribana began in 1967, born from Canada’s centennial celebrations as a tribute to the Caribbean communities that call Toronto home. What started as a one-day cultural showcase has grown into a three-week-long festival of rhythm, heritage, and high-energy festivities - making it a summer staple for the city and beyond.

📅 When Is Caribana 2025?

The main event, Caribana Weekend, takes place over the Civic Holiday long weekend:

Thursday, July 31 – Monday, August 4, 2025

The Grande Parade — Caribana’s crown jewel — hits the streets on Saturday, August 2, with a spectacular procession that runs from Exhibition Place down Lake Shore Boulevard.
